How The HCG Diet Helps You Avoid The H1N1 Virus

swine flu and obesity problemsYep, we’re again approaching the dreaded Flu season and each year the strain seems to get more virulent, affecting more unsuspecting patients. I’m sure I don’t need to tell you that the H1N1 virus is the cause of many fatalities worldwide, so anything an individual can do to limit the chances of catching the virus should be implemented, whether being vaccinated against it or, in this case losing weight…

But why weight loss?

Well I remember seeing a clip from the CBS Early Show recorded in 2009 where they discussed the connection between obesity and the complications it can cause to people suffering from the virus.

This is what one of the guests, Dr Holly Phillips, had to say…

“Of the 268 hospitalized patients for whom we had weights, actually 58% of them were obese. And 25% of that group were considered morbidly obese. Now, that’s more than 100 pounds overweight, so they were significantly overweight and they were at five times increased risk of complications from the H1N1 flu than the general population.”

Hmm, that is a little scary! We all know the general medical side effects that obesity can cause over a period of time, but when associated with a potentially deadly contagious disease you really do have to wake up and smell the coffee…

There are many reasons to lose weight utilizing the HCG diet, but the abundant threat of the H1N1 virus at this time of year should really jump to the top of the list…
